Introducing the MVP Distribution Network
Have you heard about the MVP Distribution Network? MVP Software is joining
forces with BBS sysops in a joint effort that will help both of us. I'd like
to invite you to become a member of the MVPDN. Here's how it can benefit you.
Near and dear to all sysops' hearts are callers. If you run a subscription
BBS, then more callers means more money. If you run a free BBS, then more
callers means that more people are finding what they want on your system.
Participating in the MVPDN will increase the traffic on your board.
Participating sysops in the MVPDN receive all of our popular games and
entertainment-related shareware directly from MVP Software, before it is
available on other boards or from shareware disk vendors. And joining the
MVPDN is free!
What do you have to do to join? It's easy. Participating sysops in the MVPDN
create a file section on their board called "MVP" or "MVP Software" and post
our products in that file section. As MVP games are proving to be very
popular with shareware users, this alone will attract new users to your board
because they will instantly see that they need go nowhere else to get our
products.
For example, here's how our games compare to Apogee's in downloads from
CompuServe's GAMERS forum. As of August 17, 1993, the top 3 Apogee games had
a combined download count of 6,748. The top 3 MVP games had a combined
download count of 5,459. When you consider that the Apogee games had been
posted for a much longer period of time, clearly the word is out that MVP
games are hot! Our game Sand Storm had 228 downloads on Exec-PC in just three
days after posting! And in two weeks on America On Line Sand Storm had
approximately 350 downloads.
What about the quality of our games? Good question. AOL chose Sand Storm as
a Top Pick for September 1992. PsL News chose both Robomaze II and Robomaze
III as the top new arcade games of 1991, tied with several Apogee games.
Corncob 3D, our award-winning flight sim, was nominated in two categories by
the Shareware Industry Awards, received an Editor's Choice in Shareware
Magazine, and has been favorably reviewed in PC/Games, Nuts and Volts, and In
Flight. Several of our games have also been chosen as cover disks by European
computer publications. Retail versions of our games (often identical to the
shareware versions) have sold as many as 40,000 copies in less than a year.
And the best is yet to come. We now have 12 talented development teams. In
1994 we will release our first shareware educational game, the Sea School
Series. Designed by a teacher, it combines education, outstanding graphics,
and fun for early learners like never before in shareware. Bloody April, our
next-generation 256-color air combat game has features not found in most
commercial flight sims. And MVP Bridge promises to be the best Bridge
computer game ever released, commercial or shareware.
In a recent development, Karen Crowther, well-known author of the educational
games Word Rescue, Math Rescure and Talking ABCs, will release her next game
as an MVP product. Pickle Wars is the whimsical tale of a hero and heroine
as they struggle to save their world from the big bad green Pickle invaders,
and along the way discover that there's more to life than saving the world.
Pickle Wars features a 256-color dual-parallax scrolling playing field, and
more cinematic sequences than ever before in a shareware game. You'll want
to be the first BBS in your area to carry this exciting new game!
Don't miss out! Be the first BBS in your area to carry these hot new
shareware products! These are just some of the reasons to join the MVPDN now
and grow with us. It's easy to join the MVP Distribution Network. Here's
what you do.
1. Create a file section on your system called MVP or MVP SOFTWARE. This
file section will contain all MVP shareware products.
2. Call Dave Snyder at (616)-245-8376, or leave me a message on CompuServe at
70363,15 to let me know that you wish to join the MVPDN. I will add you to
our mailing list and immediately mail you disks containing all the latest
versions of our current products. Plus, I'll send you files to use as
bulletins, log-on messages, and file area headers announcing to your users
that they need go nowhere else to get the latest and greatest in shareware
entertainment software. In addition, as an MVPDN member you will be the first
to receive new releases, before they appear in shareware catalogs.
And that's all there is to it! I hope you will join us today.
